About H T Parekh Foundation
The H T Parekh Foundation (Foundation) was established in 2012, the birth centenary of Mr Hasmukh Thakordas Parekh (H. T. Parekh), the Founder Chairman of HDFC Limited*. The Foundation has evolved from its initial focus on education, healthcare, environment, and disability support to address contemporary challenges. As an independent domestic philanthropy, the Foundation today focuses on fostering climate-resilient urban environments, advancing children’s libraries & literature, and supporting select impactful projects that are unique or have an ecosystem-level impact.

The H T Parekh Foundation envisions an inclusive India where vulnerable communities have the access and opportunity to transform their lives and move from a state of surviving to thriving. Our philanthropic culture is based on the tenets of mutual trust & respect, integrity and a humility around giving. We stand in as a long term supporter to our partners, that are working to enable the most vulnerable to live with purpose and dignity.
Our approach has been shaped by our experience across sectors and geographies across the country. We recognise opportunities by identifying gaps and needs that we are able to address in the fields we support. Using our rigorous, outcome-led grant-making process, we find and partner with effective organisations and innovative programmes that can play a critical role in promoting and enhancing opportunities for people, especially in places where systemic barriers unfairly hold them back.
Through trusted networks, we identify and partner with exemplary and experienced organisations.
We work in areas of true need, rural and urban, not limiting our support to HDFC's business presence.
